For the best outcome and maximum productivity at the workplace, both compassion and firmness go hand in hand. It does not mean the leader has to be rude and insulting to motivate the people and get the target completed. In fact, this can take away the real meaning of leading a team towards success.
Leaders do plan, implement and manage wellness programmes. It may look great on paper but not always in reality. It’s important that leaders are open to experiment and be flexible in their approach. One can always learn and keep getting better.
Keeping the staff motivated is all about good communication and accessibility. Feedback to your team is important as they await a response from their leader. Knowing everyone’s strengths and skills to require good performance is important.
Empathy, compassion and respect are important at the time of heavy discussion so that a frank discussion takes place in a collaborative way. You can start a meeting with positive reinforcement rather than with criticism to boost morale. Setting a good example for your team members, putting up the team goals along with individual goals works the best with a sense of shared purpose.
Finally offering confidential help and support is the key to make the employees comfortable working and motivate them to achieve their targets and ultimately happy and satisfied with their performance.
In return, employees work towards creating a perfect balance of personal and professional life. They can comfortably manage the family, personal needs without affecting their output at work. This is the key to success.
